Midwest Living Facility Case Study
History
The customer sought an “easy button” when managing their telecom, security, and cameras. They preferred to run all business through a single vendor to follow the “one throat to choke” mentality. We were able to vet several solutions on their behalf. We were ultimately chosen because we simplified their purchase decision while having CornerStone team members onsite for all product reviews, surveys, and installations.
Business Internet and Managed Firewall
When we first engaged the customer, they didn’t have a firewall. They relied on the modem provided by their cable company, which was identified as an immediate security risk. CornerStone worked to put together a packaged firewall solution that included regular updates and management. Fortunately, we could deliver this service at a rate below the customer’s current spending.
Resident Internet, TV, and Phone
With the voice services, reusing their phones for new residents became a challenge. The numbers stayed the same as one person moved out and another moved in, causing confusion when people called for former residents.
CornerStone worked with the local cable company to build a package for the customer, allowing significantly increased flexibility and simplified management of services on a per-room basis. The facility’s admin staff now have complete control over what is ordered, how and where it is billed, and how to manage the services for their residents. The residents were happier, the facility reduced administrative burden, and billing management was simplified.
Security Camera Installation and Management
Working with the camera provider, CornerStone helped the customer identify the location of their current network cabling drops and the best locations for the new cameras. The vendor we brought in for the internet, firewall, and residents’ TV/internet/phone plans installed and managed the devices.
