Engineering Firm Case Study
History
The customer provides engineering, manufacturing, robotics, and several other services. They have been in the US for over 30 years and have acquired several smaller firms to expand their services. We initially consulted on their AT&T services but were eventually brought in to source secondary data circuits and eliminate older services that had fallen outside of IT’s visibility.
Having once hosted a contact center distributed amongst several locations and a litany of other carrier products, their environment was a mess. The customer couldn’t understand what they had and what needed to be maintained between legacy toll-free, long-distance billing, SIP, PRI, and POTS accounts. Many of these accounts resided on legacy systems that carriers like AT&T provided limited support on—the customer couldn’t get their account team to help clean up their services, either.
Secondary Data Deployments
Although the customer’s leadership in Europe has maintained agreements with a Tier 1 provider closer to their HQ, the Americas team has engaged CornerStone to provide reliable secondary data connections. They’re consistently met with service delivery and reliability issues on their main links, so our diverse services have been necessary to keep their facilities in the US up.
Carrier Clean-Up Engagements
The customer’s messy history with old voice services, private network connections, and miscellaneous POTS lines created a severe time suck for local leadership. They’ve engaged with CornerStone in consulting projects since the early 2010s to identify, migrate, and disconnect legacy products. To date, we’ve run with the disconnects of tens of thousands of dollars a month in spending while ensuring the customer hasn’t lost any crucial DIDs or toll-free numbers.
From 2019 to 2024, CornerStone has assisted the customer in identifying, migrating, and disconnecting 27 different accounts, resulting in over $25,000/mo in savings.
